Saving Cod From Extinction

In March 2005 we were the first and only National caterer to take cod off our menus, in a bid to stave off further depletion of cod stocks. Now that stocks have improved, we have reinstated cod back onto our menus from sustainable sources.

Rainforest Alliance Beverages

We actively promote Rain Forest Alliance beverages and last year alone, served 750,000 espresso shots of Rain Forest Alliance coffee within our staff restaurants nationwide.
The Rainforest Alliance certification project is a leading international programme for environmental and social standards on coffee farms and is managed by the Rainforest Alliance, an organisation dedicated to helping farmers produce high quality beans in harmony with wildlife, promoting healthy ecosystems, protecting forests and rivers and ensuring soil and water quality.

Rapeseed Oil

We have introduced rapeseed oil into the majority of our staff restaurants nationwide. Not only does it support our ‘Well Being’ healthy eating initiative, but also our corporate environmental policy towards a greener planet. Our suppliers, R-Oil, who make and deliver the oil, also collect waste oil from us to turn into bio diesel, which is used to run the machines on the company’s farm in the Cotswold, so it is totally carbon neutral.
