Charlton House Manager wins top industry award - April 07 Maureen Derbyshire, general catering manager for independent staff caterers, Charlton House, has been named Contract Unit Manager of the Year at the prestigious Cost Sector Catering Awards. The 35-year-old was presented with her award at an Awards Dinner held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in London on 11th April 2007. She has an impressive track record for someone so young. She joined Charlton House in 1999 as assistant manager at Network Rail’s Headquarters at Euston where her potential was quickly recognised. She was one of an elite number of dedicated managers who took part in Charlton House’s High Flyers Management Programme. The investment paid off and Maureen progressed quickly to Manager at the corporate headquarters of Network Rail at Euston Station, London. In October 2004 she moved to Her Majesty’s Treasury as general catering manager. Within six months at HM Treasury the impact she made led her to receive our highest accolade, the Charlton House Special Achievement Award, an annual award given to one outstanding employee each year. In 2005, Her Majesty’s Treasury was singled out from 135 catering operations nationwide to receive the Charlton House Unit of the Year 2005 title. Commenting on this latest award, Maureen said: “To be nominated for this award was a great honour. It was with pride and pleasure that I received the award at the Cost Sector Catering Gala Dinner. I only hope that I can live up to such a prestigious title.” |
