ROBYN JONES SUPPORTS WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT - OCT 08 Robyn Jones, co-founder and chief executive of independent staff catering firm, Charlton House, is sponsoring the Sue Ryder Care Women of Achievement Awards 2008. The Awards are open to women in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire – the three counties supported by Sue Ryder Care - Nettlebed Hospice in Oxfordshire, which provides specialist palliative care to people and their families. Charlton House has managed the catering operation on site since 1999. Charlton House has gained a contract with the international law firm Mayer Brown. Under a three-year deal the independent caterer will manage hospitality services at Mayer Brown’s existing offices in Pilgrim Street, London until February 2009 when the firm is due to move to a brand new stylish building in the Broadgate development at 201 Bishopsgate, London. Charlton House has won the Association of Catering Excellence’s Ready, Steady, Cook challenge to find the best fast-cook chef team in contract catering. This is the fourth time in six years that the independent caterer has walked away with the title. Charlton House has gained a contract with Allianz Insurance to provide catering services at two sites: Ladymead in Guildford and at Leadenhall Street in London. Charlton House has been named a finalist in the National Business Awards 2008, under the 3i Growth Strategy Award category. This Award will go to an organisation that can best demonstrate an organic growth strategy (rather than merger & acquisition activity) that has achieved outstanding levels of sales, profit and market share improvement. The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on One Birdcage Walk, Westminster, has become the latest addition to the Charlton House portfolio. Under a contract valued at £900k in annual turnover, the independent caterers took over from the incumbents, Kudos Hospitality, on 4th August 2008. Following on from its highly successful ‘Well Being Being Well’ healthy eating initiative, Charlton House has joined other UK contract caterers in making a commitment to the Food Standards Agency to provide healthier food for its customers nationwide. CHARLTON HOUSE BROADCASTS IN SUCCESS - AUG 08 Charlton House has gained a catering contract with a company specialising in public safety communications. Under a three-year contract worth £230K in annual turnover, the independent contract caterers will provide a breakfast, lunch, coffee bar, vending and hospitality service to the company’s employees at a Greenfield site in Rugby, Warwickshire once the contract opens on 29th September 2008.
