Green Caterer Launches Bag for Life Charlton House Appoints Sixth Board Director David Cavalier Shortlisted For Award! - MAY 09 David Cavalier, food director of Charlton House has been shortlisted for the 2009 Craft Guild of Chefs Awards under the Contract Catering Chef category for his outstanding contribution to the sector. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the London Hilton Park Lane on 1 June 2009. CHARLTON HOUSE WINS HANDS DOWN - MAY 09 Charlton House has won a catering contract with the world’s largest fixed odds betting company, Ladbrokes PLC. In a deal worth £450,000 in annual turnover, the independent caterers took over from the incumbents, Yes Dining, on 23rd May to provide a breakfast, lunch and hospitality service to 1,000 Ladbrokes employees at the company’s corporate headquarters in Harrow. FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR CHARLTON HOUSE RESTAURANTS - APR 09 Charlton House Restaurants, the public catering division of Charlton House, has gained a contract with Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, home of the Royal Navy. Under a five-year contract worth a total of £8 million in turnover, the independent caterers took over management of the catering operation at the Historic Dockyard on 1st April 2009. HAYMARKET SUCCESS FOR CHARLTON HOUSE - APR 09 Charlton House has been awarded a catering contract with the international media giant Haymarket Media Group at their offices in Teddington, Middlesex. The three year deal for the independent caterers, worth £280k in annual turnover, started on March 9. Three Charlton House staff manage an all-day cafe, offering a breakfast, lunch and snack service to 900 Haymarket employees on site. Kate McIntosh, sales manager with Chester Boyd has been named Contract Catering Sales Person of the Year at the prestigious Cost Sector Catering Awards. The 27-year-old was presented with her award at an Awards Dinner held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in London on 16th April. Kate was nominated for the award for her exceptional sales skills. COOK THE CHEF COMES THROUGH BACK TO FRONT - MAR 09 Charlton House, an independent staff catering firm, has designed an in-house staff development programme to harness and nurture in-house talent. ‘Back to Front’ is the company’s ‘grow your own’ approach to help chefs to go from back of house to front of house by developing their managerial skills and potential so that they can seize career progression opportunities within Charlton House. After seven very successful years managing catering operations for Regent’s College in the heart of Regent’s Park, London, Charlton House has retained the contract for a further five years. The new contract is worth approximately £4.4 million in annual turnover. As well as continuing to manage staff and student catering and conferencing, the independent caterers will assist the College in developing its outside special events business within its extensive and unique grounds. NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF FOR CHARLTON HOUSE - MAR 09 Mo Vaitusi, Charlton House executive head chef at BDO Stoy Hayward on Baker Street, London, is to join Charlton House’s elite, executive chef team. He officially starts on 1st April 2009 when he will join Mike Brown, Dean Drewe and David Bridge under the directorship of the Michelin-starred chef, David Cavalier, food director of Charlton House. His main focus will be on Charlton House’s portfolio of London City fine dining contracts. |
