CHARLTON HOUSE RETAINS 11P STATUS

Charlton House has achieved ‘Investors in People’ status for the ninth year in a row. The independent contract caterers first gained accreditation in 1997 when the company had just 194 employees and an annual turnover of £5.2 million. The company has grown at a phenomenal rate since then, with 1,420 employees nationwide and an annual turnover of £54 million.

IIP assessor, Peter Kearns, commented: “This was another excellent assessment. We were impressed by Charlton House’s emphasis on performance improvement and top management’s ability to communicate with staff.”
He also remarked that Charlton House is a very friendly and hospitable organisation and that everyone he met was particularly helpful and thoughtful.

Jo Cowan, training manager for Charlton House, said:” This is a fantastic endorsement of our ethos and company values, and shows that, despite our growth and success, our people still come first. An Investor in People since 1997, we encourage creative talent and an exchange of ideas, and we believe in the value of training and developing employees at all levels, allowing them to grow and to maximise their skills and potential. It may seem a cliché to say that our people are our greatest asset but in a service industry such as ours, a happy, well-motivated and valued team is everything.”
Charlton House clients include the corporate headquarters of BUPA, Sony (United Kingdom) Ltd and Network Rail, as well as many high profile City law firms and Government contracts, such as the National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff Bay.
