NETWORK SUCCESS FOR CHARLTON HOUSE - AUGUST 07 Independent contract caterer, Charlton House, has been awarded another catering contract with Network Rail. This latest gain in Travis Street, Manchester brings the number of Network Rail sites in Charlton House’s portfolio to nine – a welcome business extension to the Mailbox site in Birmingham, Network Rail in Glasgow, five sites in London including the corporate headquarters of Network Rail in Euston, and one in Swindon. The new contract, which is worth £220K in annual turnover, opened on Monday 23rd July. A team of six Charlton House staff now manages a stylish restaurant, deli bar and hospitality services for approximately 850 Network Rail staff. Alison Tyler, joint managing director of Charlton House, said: ”Our relationship with Network Rail goes back to May 2000 when we were awarded our first group deal. We are delighted that our client has the confidence and trust in us to extend the business further. “With plenty of competition from commercial outlets right in the heart of Manchester, this site will keep our staff on their toes to come up with new ideas and innovative ways to maintain the custom we will need to meet our targets. The quality-led focus on this stylish, Greenfield site may act as a blueprint for catering services across the Network Rail business in the future.” Charlton House now holds 150 contracts and employs over 1,700 people nationwide. |
