CHARLTON HOUSE RANKED FIFTH IN TOP 50 POLL Independent contract catering firm, Charlton House, has appeared in fifth place in a survey of Britain’s top 50 companies within the hospitality sector. The 2006 Foodservice Top 50 Survey was published in Eat Out magazine in December, based on a poll of 5,000 industry leaders who were asked to rank the smartest operators in the hospitality industry. Charlton House moved up six places since last year’s 11th place listing. Tim Jones, co-founder and chairman of Charlton House, said: “It’s great to get such recognition from our peers within the industry. Our fifth place ranking places us above many well-known High Street names such as Pizza Express, Yo! Sushi and Caffe Nero, a reflection of the cutting edge food standards which we are achieving in the workplace.” Established in 1991 by Tim and Robyn Jones, Charlton House currently enjoys an annual turnover of £54 million and employs 1,420 people nationwide. Clients include the National Assembly for Wales and the corporate headquarters of Sony (United Kingdom) Ltd, BUPA and Network Rail.
