CHARLTON HOUSE GETS THE GREEN LIGHT
FROM ALLIANZ
- OCT 08

Charlton House has gained a contract with Allianz Insurance to provide catering services at two sites: Ladymead in Guildford and at Leadenhall Street in London.

Under a contract valued at over £800k in annual turnover, the independent caterers took over from the incumbents, Aramark, on 1st September. A team of fifteen Charlton House staff now manages a full restaurant, deli bar, coffee shop and hospitality for 900 Allianz staff on site in Guildford. Leadenhall Street, London is predominantly a fine dining and hospitality service, along with a staff restaurant service for the 300 Allianz staff based there.

Charlton House joint managing director, Alison Tyler, said: “ As one of the largest insurers in the UK, Allianz wanted the best possible food and service for their staff. Environmental issues also featured strongly throughout the tender process and we were able to demonstrate that we have the experience, passion and expertise to minimise environmental impact across both catering operations. “ Many of our staff restaurants now have ISO 14001 certification, with more on target to achieve the same in the coming months. Other catering organisations are satisfied to gain ISO14001 certification solely for their Head Office site but we feel that our environmental responsibility goes much further than that. We want to integrate it into our overall business operations so that each of our 150 sites takes responsibility for reducing the impact it has on the environment. We are delighted to be working with a like-minded client who shares our ethos and our emphasis on quality and sustainability”.
