IET £3 Million Contract - Jan 2008

 Charlton House has gained a catering contract with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Under a five-year deal worth over £3 million in annual turnover, the independent contract caterers have been appointed to manage catering facilities at four IET sites in London, Birmingham, Stevenage (Herts) and Glasgow.

The contract commenced on 2nd January 2008 with Charlton House providing staff catering services for approximately 450 IET staff at the Insitution’s head office in Stevenage, where they will also manage conference and hospitality services.

The Institution’s flagship site – Savoy Place in London – is the IET’s presitigious conference centre. Operating over four floors, the venue offers 20 meeting rooms which unclude two purpose-built lecture theatres with capacity for 462 people in the largest of the two.

Nico Prinsloo, Charlton House senior business development manager, said:” We will cater for an exceptionally diverse client base at Savoy Place, across a range of events, from conferences and product launches to formal dinners and board meetings. This high profile venue is set to keep us on our toes. Situated next door to The Savoy Hotel, the business has grown considerably over the past three years, both comercially and in terms of brand awareness within the London venues scene. Our aim now is to bring the food offer in line with the contemporary décor and ambience.”

Charlton House is expected to commence catering at the IET’s Birmingham and Glasgow venues in September 2008.

Charlton House’s annual turnover now stands at £70 million and the company employs 1,800 people nationwide.
