BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR - MAR 08Nico Prinsloo, former senior business development manager with Charlton House, has been promoted to the position of business development director. He joined Charlton House in 2001 as hospitality manager at P&O, and within six months became catering manager. In January 2003 he was asked to join Charlton House’s sales department where he quickly proved himself a talented and able member of the team. His new role officially starts on 1st April 2008. 37-year-old Nico, who is originally from South Africa, is looking forward to the challenges his new role will bring. He said: ”Charlton House’s annual turnover is now up to £70 million and with 180 contracts in our portfolio, our sales department is growing accordingly. I will still actively sell on behalf of Charlton House, Chester Boyd and Charlton House Restaurants, but my role will become more of a strategic one, focusing on how we approach new business opportunities and how we develop client relationships”. Nico started his career as a successful professional studio photographer in South Africa. He deviated into hospitality when he took three years out to travel the world in the late 1990’s, subsidising his travels with work in restaurants and bars. He ended up running commercial restaurants in South Africa and in Chelsea, until moving into contract catering as a barista with Sodexho in 2000. He will continue to report to Alison Tyler, Charlton House’s joint managing director, and will work closely with Charlton House business development managers, Liz Cummins, Ben Mann and Kate Manktelow. |
