Introducing Our Under 500 Calories Chef Competition
We’ve set our chefs one of our toughest challenges yet. We want them to create a tasty work-place meal that contains 500 calories or less and is of a quality fit for Raymond Blanc to enjoy at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons
Our ‘Under 500 Calories Competition’ is the latest addition to the Chef Nutrition Training Programme, which forms part of our award winning Wellbeingbeingwell initiative.
Led by Senior Executive Chef Jim Wealands and top nutritionist Amanda Ursell, the programme educates chefs on the nutritional principles of healthy eating and demonstrates how to incorporate them into day-to-day cooking, without any loss of flavour or appeal.
Jim Wealands said: “The Under 500 Calories Competition is a great opportunity for our Chefs to combine what they’ve learnt from the Chef Nutrition Training programme with their own personal taste and creative style. We’re looking for a recipe that’s healthy, creative and above all flavoursome.”
The competition is open to all chefs across the CH&Co businesses until Monday 16th June 2014. All entries submitted will be judged and critiqued by Amanda Ursell and Jim Wealands, with a shortlist announced on in July.
The 20 chefs to make the shortlist will go on to recreate their dish at The Raymond Blanc Cookery School, based in the grounds of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Oxfordshire, on Monday 14th July. Here they will be judged by a panel of experts including the school’s Head Tutor, Mark Peregrine.
All winning recipes will be available for all CH&Co chefs in a bid to share best practice across the business.
