Staff Profiles

Liz Cummins -
Business Development Manager

Liz Cummins joined us in 2002 as catering manager at BUPA House. After two years, she moved to the operations side of the business and spent six months on the mobilisation of Land Registry, our largest contract gain to date. It was a challenging role for Liz who had to oversee the opening of 24 sites nationwide, stretching from Durham in the north to Plymouth in the south, and taking in Wales and Tunbridge Wells on the way!

In July 2004 Liz made a move from catering management and operations to join the sales team at our corporate headquarters in Wyfold. It was an unusual change of direction and a brave move.

Liz is doing an outstanding job and has proved to be a valuable addition to our sales team. In her relatively short time in sales she has already secured many important contract gains such as the international law firm, SJ Berwin, the construction giant, Laing O’ Rourke and the leading financial services company, Legal & General.

JUDY ROBERTS – INNOVATION DIRECTOR

Known for our cutting edge approach to food in the workplace, we have created a new role within Charlton House to ensure that our focus clearly remains on innovation and inspiration as the company continues to grow.

The role demands someone with a creative eye who knows the business inside-out, and who has the passion and enthusiasm to seek out new concepts and maximise their potential. That someone is Judy Roberts, our former business development manager.

After ten successful years in our sales department, Judy has embraced this new challenge. Her attention to detail and people-skills make her ideally suited to this additional support role for clients and customers.

Armed with an instinctive sense of what works from a sales perspective, she is now helping our on-site teams to build on their successes by exploring new opportunities to keep their customers happy and satisfied.

Dave Hobbs -
Operations Manager

Dave Hobbs has grown with us to become a shining example of how we nurture and reward talent. He started with us in January 1999 as a chef manager at one of our smallest contracts. After seven months, he became chef manager at Laura Ashley where he catered for 300 customers across two sites. In September 2000, he was promoted to catering manager at Invesco in Henley-upon-Thames. As well as looking after the catering needs of 500 Invesco employees, Dave took on the additional challenge of managing our support team!

In 2003, he became catering manager at the UK corporate headquarters of Sony (United Kingdom) Ltd in Weybridge, one of our flagship sites.  One year later, Dave became projects manager, followed swiftly by a promotion to commercial manager, with responsibility for financial auditing, new contract openings and training.

His promotion to operations manager took place in May 2006, and is a reflection of Dave’s outstanding ability to get the best out of people.

Karen Luscombe-Chapman - Commercial Manager

Karen Luscombe-Chapman joined us in January 2003 from a background in hotel food and service management. She started her career with us as catering manager at the UK corporate headquarters of Olswang, a leading law firm in High Holborn, London, where she managed services for 500 on site. Always keen for a challenge, Karen also completed a degree in Business and Accountancy on a part-time basis.

Armed with her degree, she was promoted to Commercial Manager in September 2005, with responsibility for training our catering teams in the use of our One World accountancy package. Her role also covers compliance issues such as ensuring that we all follow company policies and comply with purchasing, accounting and employment law procedures.
