In January 2011 we gained a contract with JTI in Weybridge following a tough tender process which saw the catering provider change after ten years. Having enjoyed a quality service for over a decade, our new client was looking to Charlton House to maintain those quality standards, while improving value for money, ensuring ethical purchasing and keeping the offer fresh and imaginative.
As a much smaller operator, we knew that we could make a big difference on site.
The client’s goal was to get the best possible food and service standards for JTI employees.
Just months into the contract, we have managed to reduce costs substantially through our open book purchasing policy and efficient use of labour, while at the same time, enhancing the food offer which now has a fresh, seasonal focus.
For example, we have introduced a new tapas bar and improved the deli bar with our ‘Naturally Good’ concept. The enhanced theatre cooking has been very well-received and 48 per cent of our hot food sales now come from there.
By keeping the offer fresh and trying new things all the time, sales have already increased by ten per cent, a real indication of customer satisfaction.
Client comment:
“The challenge for Charlton House was to build on what we had already developed on site. They have been like a breath of fresh air, introducing really tangible changes which have resulted in increased use of the facility, an enhanced food offer and lower costs.
“We are particularly impressed by the level of support which we have received from day one. It’s all about creative thinking, utilising craft skills and taking little steps that make a big difference.”
