Managing TUPE

As a contract caterer we pride ourselves in how we handle the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) regulations, better known to those in the industry as TUPE, where we replace an outgoing caterer and employ the existing on-site staff.

People always come first in our organisation and our aim is to make it a smooth and pleasant transition for everyone involved. We have years of experience in bringing new employees aboard when we start a new contract and in the long term.

Our mobilisation team makes a point of explaining to new staff who we are and how we operate. We also talk to everyone individually, deal directly with concerns and ensure good understanding of job roles.

We know that strong communication is the key to the TUPE process.

Our recent Investors in People Review Report said:
“There is a clear and consistently understood vision of the organisation, both as a provider of services, and as an employer.”

Our Investors in People Assessor commented:
“Despite the considerable geographical diversity and variety in the types of sites and clients being supported, a consistently high standard of people management leads to a consistently high standard of customer service, and product.”
