Charlton House’s Graham Douglas saddles up for Springboard

Charlton House’s athletic director of operations, Graham Douglas, is putting his wheels in motion to raise money for The Springboard Charity.

From 22-24 September, he is taking on The Springboard Team Velo Challenge, accompanied by two managers from Lusso, Charlton House’s sister business – Matt Symonds, operations director at Lusso and Matt Simon, chef manager for Lusso at Peel Hunt. Over three days they will cover 250 miles as they cycle from London to Paris.

Declared one of the most exhilarating, challenging and exciting events in The Springboard Charity’s calendar, the Team Velo Challenge will test the cyclists both physically and mentally as they negotiate the heavy traffic of major towns and cities, tackle significant climbs, battle costal winds and adapt to cycling on the ‘wrong’ side of the road once in France.

As keen cyclists, Matt, Graham and Matt are looking forward to taking in the stunning scenery along the route, being motivated by the event camaraderie, accomplishing their own personal challenges, and most importantly raising funds for Springboard’s vital work in supporting people into sustainable employment in hospitality, leisure and tourism.
